The History of Millfield Golf Club
1979 The Golf Range was started, with a short par 3 course around the perimeter.
1981 The par 3 course was opened.
1983 9 holes were opened -
1985 A further 9 holes were added, making a full sized 18 hole golf course. The owners, the Watson family, allowed us to form a golf club.
1986 The Club was affiliated to the Lincolnshire Golf Union.
1987/8 The white competition tees were added.
1990 On 18th August Paul Bilboa became the first person to par the course off the competition tees.
1992 The 15 hole course was opened.
1997 The 15 hole course was extended to become the 18 hole Gren Green course.
1999 Millfield received a special plaque from the Golf Foundation for being the largest donor in the country over the previous 10 years.
2000 Mick Druscz became the first member to win a County event (the Taylor Cup).
2005 A team of Millfield Juniors (Joe Broadbent, Mark Marshall,Harriet Wilson, and Aaron Nairn), led by Brian Cummings, won the YMG International Junior Pairs tournament at St. Andrews, Scotland. Qualifying as North of England champions, they won against teams from Wales, Ireland, and the South of England.
2007 Millfield G.C. won the L.U.G.C rules competition for the third successive year.
2014 Two junior members Aaron Nairn and Billie-
Millfield Golf Club uses HandicapMaster computer program to maintain handicaps and organise competitions.
